Microlearning/ Job Aids

This page highlights samples of my work broken into 2 sections: Microlearning- using video-based tools, and then Job Aids- displaying static document-based items that are either independent microlearning tools or support/reinforce training from another course as part of a blended learning solution.

Vyond

Description: This Microlearning focuses on using engaging storytelling to convey a message. In this case, the story highlights prioritizing high-leverage learning objectives versus covering a broad array of content in a single course. After storyboarding, the video was created with Vyond and incorporates pre-formatted background characters, scenes, and stock music, plus custom characters, scenes, objects, camera movements, and video editing to create a comic book reading experience.

Tools: Vyond, Canva, Adobe Lightroom, ChatGPT (brainstorming and text editing support)

Rapid Turnaround with AI Supports

Microlearning is often needed quickly to fill non-critical gaps in skills training. The below examples of Microlearning were done with a turn around speed of 2 hours or less using Vyond's AI tool: Vyond Go to create a basic template for training that was then revised to meet training needs.

Description: This Microlearning covers multiple aspects of a professional voicemail greeting. A script was developed for this video, and Vyond Go was used to create a quick video template. Edits and revisions were made, with a total video completion time of around 1 hour.  Edits included changes to text/dialogue, voice tone, character actions, icon selections, animations, and timing. Custom props were also created within Vyond.

Voicemail Job Aid

Description: This Microlearning covers the step-by-step process for reporting minor injuries in the workplace. A script was developed for this video, and Vyond Go was used to create a quick video template. Numerous edits and revisions were made with the video completion time under 2 hours. The video incorporates custom object animations and edits to character actions, icon selections, and timing.

Description: This Job Aid supports the information provided in the course and can be used as a learner reference sheet. It includes 3 versions: a high-color version for online use, plus color printing, and B&W printing versions. The material is broken down into categories and the colors used align with those from the course for each category.  Designed for 8.5x11 (letter size) printing.

Project/Full Course Link: Addressing Hidden Objections

Description:   This Job Aid supports the information provided in the course and can be used as a quick reference while working. It was provided as two prototype versions for 4x9 color printing (brochure size.) This guide was developed using Canva.

Project/Full Course Link: Addressing Hidden Objections

Description: This Job Aid provides images of the company's fall advertising for retail furniture and home goods. I used Canva to break down images and display accessory packages and the two different room package options in a visual format. Sales staff were to print these (letter format) for inclusion in their sales binders (a mandatory salesperson resource used frequently with information on current products, promotions, and procedures.)

Project/Full Course Link: Fall Product Roll Out

Description: This document provided a new method for tracking commission and bonus (SPIFF) dollars for retail sales staff requiring a paper-and-pencil tracking system. Due to a complex structure of increases based on delivered sales, samples were provided for both a completed and in-progress version in addition to the blank version for duplication/printing (letter format- landscape.) More details on completion procedures were covered in the Articulate Course. A spreadsheet version also made (see below).

Project/ Full Course Link: Cashing In on SPIFF Opportunities

Description: This spreadsheet was designed for sales staff with expertise in spreadsheets. It has formulas for auto-calculation of totals and highlighting when benchmark limits are met within categories. It has sample sheets for completion and gives general guidance on how to arrange items by delivery date for faster calculation. It mirrors the paper and pencil version covered in the course with added spreadsheet functionality.
